Long Business Description

Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Company

We provide global customers precise solutions through innovative applications, superior products & services, and modernization of security capabilities.

We have a responsibility to our customers to provide the best possible experience by holding ourselves and our solutions to exceptional-standards.

We operate at the forefront of the global defense and threat mitigation arena for the United States and its Allies. Our subject matter expertise includes special operation forces, intelligence, canine detection, information technology & security, and logistics.

K2 Solutions, Inc. (K2) is dedicated to the technical, logistic, engineering, and scientific communities in providing the American Warfighter and Public Safety entities with the tools to ensure the best chance of success in the worldwide effort to defeat terrorism – foreign and domestic. Our four primary business units include Defense Services, Canine, Information Technology, and Logistics.

K2 has been awarded the Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation for our Person-Borne™ Explosive Detection Dogs. These dogs unmask mobile threats™ who are wearing or carrying explosives under clothing as they move through crowds. This additional layer of security is particularly effective in mass-transit hubs, large stadium events, entry-control points, etc.

Our state-of-the-art 125-acre Canine Training Center is located in Jackson Springs, North Carolina. This comprehensive facility provides 55 different training areas; five, 320-run kennel buildings; two support and administrative buildings; and an environmental chamber (-20F to 120F), which supports our Canine Research and Development (R&D) efforts for the next generation of canines.

The dogs and handlers we train are shaped by our familiarity with the Special Operations Forces (SOF) environment, our backgrounds as Combat Veterans, Field and Hunt Trial leaders, Law Enforcement expertise, and our contractor support for a variety of Department of Defense organizations. We emphasize critical thinking based upon foundational learning so that handlers are able to think and act quickly to maximize the utility of their canine assets when confronted by high-stress situations.

K2’s entire canine organization – from the Vice President to program management to canine trainers and kennel staff – is made up of individuals who are experienced working with Multi-Purpose Canines (MPCs), IDDs, Military Working Dogs (MWDs), Combat Tracker Dogs (CTDs), Specialized Search Dogs (SSDs), Field Trial/Hunt Test retrievers, and law enforcement K9s. With years of combat, sporting, and law enforcement experience, our managers and trainers are skilled in adapting canine training techniques in response to emerging Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) on the battlefield and in our communities. Our Canine Vice President and associated Program Managers (PMs) are also skilled in allocating resources, managing budgets, mitigating risk, identifying and rectifying gaps, facilitating program communication, and ensuring on-time and quality deliverables – all essential components of K2’s consistent performance and responsiveness to all operational objectives.

Our world-class trainers are drawn from US and British MWD programs, the Field Trial/Hunt Test world of retriever training, and law enforcement entities throughout the United States and Canada. They have demonstrated their ability to successfully integrate these disciplines into a training methodology that leads to better trained and more effective MWDs.
