The IDB fosters shoulder-to-shoulder partnerships among the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, other government agencies, and the private sector to achieve excellence and innovation through research and education.
The IDB addresses this objective by offering a unique suite of joint educational initiatives that serve the US Military as well as government and non-governmental agencies and the private sector.
The flagship program of the IDB is the Center of Excellence in Logistics and Technology (LOGTECH) at UNC, established pursuant to Congressional direction in 2000. LOGTECH programs include research, executive education, an MBA offered in partnership with the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, forums, and a Subject Matter Expert Board. The IDB also offers the Depot and Arsenal Executive Leadership Program (DAELP) providing extensive enterprise management education for the commanders and senior leadership of our Nation’s depots and arsenals. The IDB’s Center for Stabilization and Economic Reconstruction (CSER) provides educational programs ranging from pre-deployment economics and governance roundtables to executive education seminars and symposiums for combatant commands.
The IDB also offers: Logistics for the 21st Century (Log21) for early-career, high-potential corporate and military logisticians; a Life Cycle Executive Leadership Program (LCELP); and the UNC-IDB Strategic Studies Fellows Program (SSFP). Additionally, the IDB has designed and delivered custom programs for the Business Transformation Agency.
Since its inception, over 5,000 military, government, private sector and non-government organization seasoned executives and high-potential performers have participated in Institute for Defense and Business Programs.
