Did you know North Carolina has an Interagency Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee (I3C) consisting of universities, community colleges and state agencies working together to create a cybersecurity ecosystem in our state? Join us at 10:00 am on March 23rd and learn about:
- The mission and goals of the I3C
- How the committee is working to help defense contractors in North Carolina navigate cybersecurity regulations
- Cybersecurity initiatives in the state such as the Carolina Cyber Network, the North Carolina Partnership for Cybersecurity Excellence, the UNCW Center for Cyber Defense Education and many others
About Laura Rodgers:
Laura Rodgers provides assistance to federal contractors in North Carolina as a member of the NC Military Business Center’s business development team and helps defense contractors comply with the new Department of Defense cybersecurity regulations. She developed several cybersecurity tools and resources for defense contractors that can be found at www.cyberNC.us and is currently teaching a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 compliance course.
Ms. Rodgers also chairs the NC Interagency Cybersecurity Coordinating Committee, which is a group of state agencies, universities and community colleges working together to build a cybersecurity ecosystem in the state.
Prior to joining the NCMBC, Ms. Rodgers was a Client Relations Manager at North Carolina State University’s Industry Expansion Solutions organization where she performed business and operations assessments for defense contractors in the aerospace industry.
Ms. Rodgers began her career at Martin Marietta (now Lockheed-Martin) working on the MX and Titan Missile programs and worked on military training programs at General Dynamics Information Technology. During her time in the defense industry Ms. Rodgers held a variety of positions in business operations, training, compliance, quality management systems, business development and proposal preparation.
Ms. Rodgers attended Oklahoma State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA. She recently earned a Data Privacy and Protection Specialist certification from the Association for Data and Cyber Governance and is working toward a CMMC Certified Professional certification.
